Turkey Chili

This is probably the only time I’ve been somewhat excited about the Super Bowl!

For those of you that don’t know, I just moved to Seattle… so, go Seahawks??

Anyway, since I have plans for the Super Bowl this year, I decided to go ahead and plan recipes early. This chili is pure GOLD and healthier than most chilis out there!

For those that care about my life in Seattle… OH MY GOSH. I am so obsessed with this city! For any of you that are foodies or have any dietary restrictions, please do yourself a favor and come to Seattle. My belly has been so happy since we arrived. Also, the weather and scenery is perfection.

I’m done. Expect much longer rants about Seattle later when I’m no longer living out of boxes and have more time on my hands.

  • 1-2 lbs ground turkey (depends on how meaty you want the chili to be)
  • 1 yellow onion, chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 28 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 1-2 cups cherry plum tomatoes, diced
  • 3 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 15 oz can kidney beans
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 jalapenos, diced
  • dashes of salt and pepper
  • 3 Tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 2 Tbsp smoked paprika

Heat up a large pot on medium high with olive oil.

Add onions and garlic and cook until slightly cooked, about 3 minutes.

Add ground turkey and cook until browned.

Reduce the heat to low and add all of the rest of the ingredients.

Cook for up to one hour.

Add extra spices or salt and pepper as needed. Top with your favorite cheese or chips!
