Roasted Chickpeas

I can’t get over these.

I keep reasonably up-to-date with what’s going on online and in magazines with “trendy” foods, and this idea has been popping up more and more, so I figured I just had to try.

I think the best part about this recipe, aside from the fact that they’re insanely easy, is how flexible you can get with the seasoning. You can make them spicy, salty, or savory. It’s really up to you.

Also, these are great by themselves as a snack, or you can use them to dress a dish (I use them on top of my salads or even nachos).

You will need:

  • 1 can garbonzo beans
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • (You can add more if you want more flavor or spiciness)

Preheat oven to 400.
Drain the can of garbonzo beans.
Mix the beans and all of the seasonings in a small bowl.
Spread evenly over a baking sheet.
Bake for 15 minutes or until crispy.

Store in an airtight container for a few days.
