Baked Apple Chips

Ohhhh WOW.

I am almost embarrassed with how long it has been since I last posed on here.

I guess I can just go ahead and say that 2012 was a very busy year, and once everything slowed down, I took a much needed break. After a half marathon, triathlon, bike race, health complications, and craziness with my job I guess I forgot to stay true to what’s truly important to me…healthy cooking!

Alright, enough disclaimers, let’s get down to business.

Apple chips.

I really don’t think these need an explination. They’re delicious and easy. They also make your house smell amazing.

You will need:

  • 4 apples (I used granny smith and fugi)
  • sprinkles of cinnamon
  • baking sheets

Preheat oven to 200 degrees.
Slice the apples into thin slices. I didn’t use a ruler here or anything, but the thinner you slice, the crunchier the apples will be.
Layer the apples on a parchment-lined baking sheet with no overlap. Sprinkle with as much cinnamon as you would like.
Bake for an hour and a half or until the chips crisp up.

Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
