These are a delicious healthy snack that most anyone would enjoy.
You will need:
- 2 cups almonds
- 4 T brown rice syrup
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1 1/2 T unsweetened cocoa powder
First, preheat the oven to 375.
In a small saucepan on medium heat, combine the brown rice syrup, salt, cayenne, and cinnamon and bring to a simmer.
Add the almonds, and cook for 3 minutes constantly stirring.
Line a baking sheet with wax paper and bake for 15-20 minutes (here I had to keep an eye on them because if you leave them in there too long they’ll burn).
When they’re done, let the almonds cool and in the meantime pour the cocoa powder in a large plastic bag.
Once the almonds are cooled, pour them into the bag and shake to evenly coat with the cocoa powder.
