Black Bean Burgers


These are absolutely amazing.
Taste great with grilled squash!

You will need:

  • 2 15 oz cans of black beans
  • 1/2 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup gluten free flour
  • 1/4 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp onion salt
  • organic hamburger buns, or gluten free buns
  • 1/4 cup flax meal, almond meal, or corn meal

In a food processor, puree the two cans of black beans. Then add onion, flour, cornmeal, cumin, and garlic salt. Puree until everything is incorporated.

Make mixture into 6 balls and place on a plate. (This can get a bit messy.)
Chill in fridge for at least one hour… the longer the better.
Heat up a cast iron skillet with grapeseed oil, and in the mean time roll each patty in flax meal then flatten into a patty.
Place patties in the skillet on medium heat until side gets browned, then flip… approx. 5 minutes each side.

Serve with rice cheese, ground mustard, spinach, or whatever other condiments you like… these guys are incredible!
